Professional Greyhound Trainer Pat (Paddy) Curtin & his Wife Liz (Lil) run a Racing Kennel under their trade name Lilypad Racing.

From a modern facility set in the Warwickshire countryside at Gaydon the couple have established, from somewhat meagre beginnings, a well run and successful operation with a strong client base.

In previous years the kennel had enjoyed huge success with their graded runners at Oxford but since 2010 when Pat & Liz moved to Ladbrokes flagship venue at Monmore Green, Wolverhampton their profile has continued to grow and they have made a strong impact in the past 12 months. The Owners at Village Farm are offered a relaxed friendly informal atmosphere and owner input and parcipitation is always encouraged and totally respected. That said, those choosing to entrust their Greyhound to the Curtins can be sure that the Hound will be well looked after and trained to the full.
The Curtins openly are very proud of the warm, friendly family environment they afford to all their owners. Everything they do is based around owner satisfaction and enjoyment and they manage to balance a relaxed informal atmosphere around the kennels with tremendous attention to detail and a highly motivated ambitious business plan that they work tirelessly to adhere to. As they gain more and more experience they are also become more profficient and are constantly getting results with all types and grade of Greyhound.
Once known as the 'poor mans horse racing', greyhound racing has always been a sport of the people. At one time it was second only to football as the largest spectator sport in the country. Most people have or know someone that has visited a dog track at some point in their lives, it is widely acknowledged as a most enjoyable night out. The sport is currently going through a 'transitional period' when racing and racing schedules are changing. Moreover the Owners enjoy cleanerfacilities and better prizemoney. The prizemoney at Monmore Green means that Owners there canmore than make their hobby financially 'viable' and the plan is that this will only get better as Ladbrokes continue tolead the way in Greyhound Racing.
Few realise just how affordable it is to have a vested interest by owning your own greyhound. It costs less than many other social activities or hobbies such as a round of golf, a trip to the hairdressers or a trip to the cinema. You as an individual or a couple or as part of a group could find ownership of one of these magnificent athletes costs a lot less than you imagined
